Hi, I’m Harley - Sunday, April 19, 2020

So, I probably should have done this type of blog entry first. You know, introduce myself to people who don’t know me. I know, I’m right. I should have. But now is as good as any time. So…..

Hi, I’m Harley White. I was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in…..well, sometime in the past. I live in Rome, Georgia, currently. And I have for quite some time. I like it here. I went to Berry College here in Rome, and graduated with a Bachelor’s of Music Education. I did teach for a while. I’ve always worked in restaurants. I’m also a photographer, started seriously in 2009. I’m creative. I like to see the good in people and the things around me. I have a pupper named Jack, and he is the most awesome pupper ever. My favorite colors are green and orange. My favorite sports ball team is the Miami Hurricanes. I love the Legend of Zelda series and comic books. And now is a good time to mention I’m a huge nerd, unabashedly and unashamedly. I also like to think I’m witty and funny, but many times I’m the only one saying that, and that’s ok! Also, I like long walks on a short pier, watching the sunsets in the morning, and being around the people I love.

I warned you. I think I’m funny. Now you know.

I also love Jesus unabashedly and unashamedly. My life has changed because of Him, and I’m not going to be afraid to admit that. I spent most of my young years in South Florida, and would win an attendance and participation award for church. I loved church. In my young adult life, however, I had some situations that I allowed pull me away from Him. But I’m back. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I think I started my blog with some things I learned while reading the Word because I’m excited to share what I learn. Life can be tough, and it most assuredly will be at some point for all of us. So when I learn something that helps, I share. I love to share. One of my favorite things I’ve ever been called is the “Godfather of Storytelling.” Good or bad, I love to tell stories and hear others’ stories. So it’s easy for me to talk about how Jesus affected my story. Changed it for the oh-so-much better! It wasn’t always easy, but it sure is now.

And I do love being around the people I love. I also love to help others. I love people. It’s almost a fault for me. Not that I’m ignorant to how people can be, but I know I wasn’t always the good person I am now (thanks to Jesus). People can change. There’s only one way I know for that to happen.

This may be a short introduction, but I’ll share stories from my personal life from time to time. Feel free to share with me. If I don’t know you, introduce yourself! I may be shy, but I always love to meet new people.

Hope you all have a great week! Nice to meet you.

So, it's been quite a while since I last put an entry into my blog. I needed some time to focus on myself and family, so I took it. But this past Sunday, something happened that I felt like sharing.

Fair warning, I'm very sentimental and it will show in this blog. I love to see the good in things. I can get angry and passionate, but I consider it a human reaction, I don't like it at all. I do
